"TÜMOSAN was established in 1976 in order to produce motor drive and drivetrain and similar equipment, but has concentrated its activities in the production of diesel engines and tractors. Turkey's first diesel engine manufacturer with the distinction of being TÜMOSAN, providing the same side of the tractor diesel engines produced by TURKISH TRACTOR brand and has performed well for many years HIGHWAY diesel engine production. TÜMOSAN employees' common goal is to achieve quality production and perfection to meet all expectations of the customer. The decision of the Council of Ministers dated 05 December 1975 and numbered 75/10905 for the production of motor-driven and drivetrain and similar equipment has been taken and the central Ankara has been determined. Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK), Turkey Agricultural Equipment Corporation (TZDK), Şekerbank Turkey Maritime Bank, with the participation of the State Industrial and Labor Investment Bank, on June 23, 1976 100-Million capital TÜMOSAN, was founded by the Turkish Commercial Code. The shares of MKEK were transferred to the Heavy Industry and Automotive Institution (ASOK) established on November 13, 1984 with the Decree Law No. 233 (Decree Law). again transferred to MKEK. While the company was in Ankara at the central organization, it was stated by the decision of the Council on Economic Affairs High Coordination Council No. 157 dated September 12, 1984 that the center of the company would be Konya and the company headquarters was actually transferred to Konya on 19 September 1985. 5 projects were discussed with the organization, and the following companies underwent licensing, engineering, supply, marketing and training agreements: Tractor Project: FIAT TRATTORI-ITALY Diesel Engines Project: FIAT TRATTORI-ITALY Light Duty Diesel Engines Project: MITSUBISHI-JAPAN Truck and Heavy Truck Engines Project: DAIMLER BENZ GERMANY, VOLVO-SWEDEN Powertrain Project: ZAHRADFABRIK (ZDF) -ALMANYA Construction of truck and heavy truck diesel engines projects carried out by TÜMOSAN was transferred to Aksaray Motor Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. However, AKMOSAN was attached to ASOK with the decree Law no. 233 on the State Economic Enterprises included in the Official Gazette No. 18435 of 18 June 1984. For the Heavy Truck Diesel Engines Project Sweden VOLVO was prepayed as 2.4 million Swedish Krona against the contract value of 4 Million Swedish Krona. After this project was transferred to BMC, the receivables were collected. The license agreement was signed with Japanese MITSUBUSHI Company regarding the two types of minibuses, midibuses and pickup light diesel engines under construction in Aksaray. Construction of factory facilities with a closed area of 25,000 m2 was left uncompleted in carcass. A license agreement was signed with the German ZF Company for the Powertrain Project and was paid to 5.525.000 German Mark, which is the entire contract price. The construction of the factory building with 20.000 m2 closed area in Konya was left uncompleted in carcass. In accordance with the license agreement signed with the Italian FIAT Company on April 7, 1977 for the tractor and diesel engines projects, TÜMOSAN acquired a 3, 4 and 6 cylinder diesel engine and 8 type tractor licenses in the 49-142 BG range. The engine assembly and test workshop In 1981, the engine block, cylinder head main bearing cap production line investment was completed in 1987, although the engine project entered the investment program in 1978 and almost all of the engine was intended to be produced locally. Investments in manufacturing lines for other main components of the engine such as crankshaft, connecting rod and camshaft have not been realized. Tractor assembly workshop In December 1983, the tractor mechanical workshop consisting of gear box, front axle support, rear cover, axle sleeve and transmission box manufacturing lines was put into operation in April 1986. Between 1987 and 1992, tractor production was interrupted and started again in 1993. License Agreement with FIAT was terminated in August 1988 and TÜMOSAN has continued to manufacture diesel engines and tractors under its own brand according to the experience gained. The Company was taken into the privatization scope and program on August 18, 1998 and the shares of MKEK were transferred to the Privatization Administration and it was decided to complete the privatization transactions within one year."
